5/20/2020,

Dear Carson High School Seniors and Families,

I hope this letter finds you safe and well. Carson High has been very busy developing a plan that will allow students to pick up items from the school and drop off school district items and material.  We have also created a plan that will allow students to be acknowledged for all of their accomplishments, while keeping students, families, community members, and staff safe.  We appreciate all of your support!  None of this could have been accomplished without it.

The end of the year is going to look quite different from past years.  With social distancing in place we have created a plan that will allow students to drop off their Chromebooks, textbooks, etc., and pick up their bag that includes items such as their pre-purchased yearbook, cap and gown, prom gift, senior awards, locker items, etc.  Seniors must use their colored paper with their name on it (this is being mailed home) to drop off items. Please have it displayed in the front passenger side window.

End of year plan: June, 1st, Senior pick up and drop off

  • A-D:8 am- 10 am
  • E-L:10 am - 12 pm
  • M-R: 12 pm - 2 pm
  • S-Z:2 pm - 4 pm

Please bag each item individually. Include student name on or inside bagged items. Items to be returned to specific teachers, include teacher name (CTE materials, textbooks):

  • ROTC Drop in front of the ROTC Building
  • Choir/Band drop off in front of the South Entrance of the building in the teacher parking lot.
  • ChromeBook returns: Remove all users on Chromebook and take off removable clamshell case.Removable case does not get returned.Include student name and ID number on or inside the bag containing the Chromebook and power cord. Please make a note of any repairs needed.
  • Textbooks, Library books, CTE items drop off in the loop on the West side of the building.
  • Senior bag pick up will be on the North end of the building near the gym entrance.

Seniors: CCSD Google accounts will be disabled after graduation.  Save all files to a personal account for future access. Use takeout.Google.com/transfer to save your Google Drive documents.

Graduation Information: June 6th

We are proud to announce that this year we have the opportunity to do something that Carson High has never done before.  This unique opportunity allows us to develop a plan that not only recognizes each and every graduate but allows parents and families to get an up close and personal experience. In addition to a personal graduation, Carson High is creating a “Virtual Graduation” video.  This video will include a speech from the principal, Chloe Walt (Senior Class President), Kai Chen (Carson High Valedictorian), Maryn Myler (Jump Start Valedictorian), a rendition of the National Anthem by our CHS Honor Choir, a slide submitted by each student, a farewell message from teachers and administrators, and the Senior Song.  This video will be posted on the school website by June 5th.  This is something that the Class of 2020 will be able to cherish for years to come.

We will be hosting our first ever Carson High Graduation Drive In!  Since this is the first time for CHS to create a plan like this we are looking for the support of our students and our parents.  Due to the large number of students we will have limited space in our parking lots.  With that being said, we are asking families to come in vehicles that we can accommodate in our plans.   Please be mindful and considerate of others during this ceremony as we want everyone to be able to safely celebrate our student’s accomplishments.
