CMS, EVMS Middle School Wrestling Teams Qualify for Tah Neva Championship

Grapplers from both Carson Middle School (CMS) and Eagle Valley Middle School (EVMS) qualified for the league’s Tah Neva Championship Tournament set for March 25 at Pershing County High School in Lovelock, Nev. Coaches said the wrestlers became eligible during the qualifier tournament in Fallon, Nev. last Saturday.

Below is a list of each athlete separated by grade, weight class and place the wrestler made during the tournament.

Carson Middle School, Dan Ailes, head coach

8th Grade:

Wyatt Bauerle – 95lb – 2nd Place

Jonas Arroyo – 120lb – 4th Place


7th/6th Grade:

Daniel Walther – 80lb – 1st Place

Niko Mitchell – 120lb – 1st Place

Luke Davis – 125lb – 3rd Place

Andre Deleon – 125lb – 3rd Place

Sirus Hayes – 135lb – 1st Place

Lucas Bryant – 165lb – 3rd Place

Eli James – HWT – 4th Place

Jojo Ailes – 100lb – 3rd Place for Girls

Of note, EVMS had 19 wrestlers compete in the qualifier with 4 champions (3 8th grade, 1 7th grade).  13 wrestlers qualified outright (4th place or higher) with 2 wrestlers qualifying as alternates.  As a team, EVMS placed 3rd at the tournament behind CCMS (Churchill County Middle School) and Dayton Intermediate School.  CCMS had 35 wrestlers, Dayton had 26, while EVMS had the 4th least amount of wrestlers at 19.
