Carson City School District will require masks through remainder of school year

It is good news to hear the CDC has eased outdoor and indoor mask-wearing guidance. We are hopeful of more normality on the horizon. However, to be more fully clear for our parents, families, employees and educators, the Carson City School District will continue to follow the health and safety protocols that currently exists within the district and the COVID-19 Mitigation Transition Plan set forth by the Carson City Board of Supervisors. Therefore, for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year, masks will continue to be required indoors and where individuals are unable to socially distance, regardless of vaccination status.

Foundation Supports WNC Jump Start, Seeks Donations for Textbooks

The Carson City Schools Foundation (CCSF), in support of the Carson City School District, seeks community donors to match its efforts to ‘Sponsor a Student’ for the Western Nevada College (WNC) Jump Start College program. From now through June 30, 2021, the foundation is supporting and will match community sponsorships up to $6,250 total to help make up the cost of textbooks and materials for the up-coming school year.

Carson High Announces In-Person Graduation Ceremony for Class of 2021

The Carson City School District is pleased to announce Carson High School’s plan to host an in-person graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 Saturday, June 5, 2021, starting at 9 a.m. The ceremony will take place on the football field. Attendees will be able to sit in the bleachers and other areas will be available such as grass areas and the outside edge of the football field.

06-15-17 Pedaling Books During Summer School
The Carson City Library’s Pedal Library will be busy delivering books to students attending summer school. Now through the end of June, the teardrop trailer pulled behind a bike will provide up to 60 pounds of books at each elementary school within the Carson City School District. The mobile library will be offering mobile wifi and charging station soon.
