The Carson City School District would like to reassure employees there has not been a data breach or leak of information within the school district. There is, however, since the start of the pandemic last year, an ongoing issue of false unemployment claims being filed among numerous employers throughout the state of Nevada and across the nation. This is not a circumstance specifically isolated to the Carson City School District. It appears no employer, business, industry or public agency has been spared.

Pre-K, Kindergarten & Annual Update Registrations begins Tuesday, April 6

Beginning April 6, 2021, online registration, annual updates, and elective class selections will be underway in the Carson City School District. The annual update is an online process that allows families to verify and submit yearly required information such as current home address, contact information, and emergency contacts which are necessary in order for district administrators and teachers to contact parents or families. This online process eliminates the forms and paperwork that used to be required for annual registration. With the Infinite Campus online tool, parents and families can view class schedules, attendance records, teacher communications and other information regarding the school and their student.

The past 12 months have arguably been some of the most tumultuous for students and their families, but the one thing they haven’t had to worry about as their lives turned upside down is where their next meal would come from. The dedicated school lunch heroes at Carson City School District have worked tirelessly to safely prep, cook, pack, and distribute meals to those who need it in Carson City. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to keeping kids healthy and fed this year, and school districts across the country quickly adopted new strategies and service models, from delivering scratch-made meals by bus to transforming classrooms into cafeterias.

Bullseye! Fritsch Elementary School’s Archery Team Wins State

The Fritsch Elementary School Archery Team earned the highest marks for an elementary school in the Nevada State Archery Competition for the 2020-2021 season. The achievement brought the State Title, trophy and honor home to Carson City for the first time in program history.

Full-time Online Learning in Carson City to be Offered Only through Pioneer Academy (Grades 1-12)

For the coming 2021-2022 school year, the Carson City School District (CCSD) is shifting all full-time online education for elementary, middle and high school students to one consolidated site: Pioneer Academy (grades 1-12). Pioneer Academy will replace all individual school site remote learning models the district created at the start of the 2020-2021 school year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Carson City Library’s Pedal Library will be busy delivering books to students attending summer school. Now through the end of June, the teardrop trailer pulled behind a bike will provide up to 60 pounds of books at each elementary school within the Carson City School District. The mobile library will be offering mobile wifi and charging station soon.
