The Carson City School District is set to host two admission-free music events that will not only weave an aural tapestry for the listening pleasure of those in attendance but also strike all the right notes and showcase student talent and refined skill.

“The music programs within our district boast a rich tradition, and events like Band-O-Rama and Choirpalooza stand as the culmination of our students' dedication and hard work throughout the academic year," said Briana Valley, music teacher at Carson Middle School. “Music is incredibly powerful in uniting and inspiring us, especially during ‘Music in our Schools Month,’ which is the month of March. These events aim to create an experience that resonates well beyond the final chord or note. I would like to thank the community and the school administrations for their continued support for our wonderful music students in Carson City School District."

Choirpalooza will be held Thursday, March 14, 7 p.m., in the main gym at Carson High School. The concert will celebrate vocal music and music education with featured performances from choirs of all age levels including elementary, middle and high school choral ensembles. It is estimated there will be more than 500 performers including singers from elementary, middle and high school.

The Carson High Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will host the annual Band-O-Rama concert Thursday, March 21, 7 p.m., in the main gym at Carson High School. The concert, which celebrates instrumental music and music education in the schools, will feature Bands from all age levels, both elementary, middle and high school. It is estimated there will be more than 600 instrumentalists in grades 5-12. The Carson High Jazz band will provide pre-concert music starting at 6:30 p.m.
