A total of 33 third, fourth and fifth grade students from Empire Elementary School performed a musical theater program for their peers during the school day and again in the evening for parents and families Tuesday, March 26. The production, titled "Character Matters," taught SEL-based life lessons through the lens of fairytale characters trying to find their way.

According to Cassidy Robinsons, music teacher at Empire Elementary, the program involved eight and a half weeks of rehearsals for participating students, who were given the opportunity by Wildhorse Children's Theater and grant funding. Empire Elementary was pleased to engage in the partnership for the third consecutive year, giving eager students the chance to not only perform, but also improve their skills over time.

The show made audience members laugh and cheer as the performers beamed with pride and excitement. The school is also incredibly grateful to Ms. Carol Scott, Dr. Tanya Scott and their guest instructor, Ms. Tara Rispin, for their continued support and love for all students.
